Ecosystem is an French eco-organisation, a not-for-profit company approved by the public authorities, whose role is to extend the life of electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) and batteries through repair, collection, reuse and recycling.
They have chosen to channel the entire amount of reusable waste to players in the social economy (SSE). Solidarity-based reuse has a triple ecological, economic and social value: extending the life of equipment, reintegrating and professionalising people who are far from employment, access to essential equipment at moderate prices for the most modest households.
To meet its new responsibilities in the area of re-use, ecosystem has put in place a number of mechanisms to develop the re-use of electrical and electronic equipment and support all those involved in developing a circular economy model. These mechanisms mainly take the form of financial support, allocation of used EEE/ WEEE, bringing together players or offering support, calls for projects and training in the circular economy.
