What is the Reuse Economy?

What is the Reuse Economy?

The Reuse Economy encompasses all activities, infrastructures, and value chains that extend the use of products and components. It is part of the 10R framework and primarily focuses on the activity families from R1 to R7: Rethink, Reduce, Reuse, Repair, Refurbish, Remanufacture, and Repurpose.

The Reuse Economy triptych :

 1. Design for multiple life cycles: robustness, modularity, disassembly, and standardisation of products and components
 2. Organise product return and circulation: refilling, collection, take-back systems, reverse logistics, and shared flows
 1. Extend product use: reuse, repair, refurbishment, remanufacturing, and repurposing
