The AGEC law has set ambitious targets for the re-use of used goods in France from 2020. This regulatory change raises questions about the socio-economic model of reuse in France, between the historical players of non-profit reuse and new models of reuse with lucrative aims. Against a backdrop of over-consumption of low-cost imported new products, is reuse in France possible, and can these two reuse models co-exist?
